(12/15/2025) Prof. Underwood received the 2026 AIAA Lawrence Sperry award given for “notable contribution made by a young person, age 35 or under, to the advancement of aeronautics or astronautics. This award honors Lawrence B. Sperry, pioneer aviator and inventor, who died in 1923 in a forced landing while attempting a flight across the English Channel.” Special thanks to all the students in the group that made the award possible.
(10/03/2025) Sai Subhankar received the student excellence award from the American Physical Society Gaseous Electronics Conference. This is a big award from the low-temperature plasma community. Congrats Sai!
(09/17/2025) Prof. Underwood was a participant in the National Academy of Engineering Frontiers of Engineering event. This event is an annual three-day meeting that brings together 100 of the nation's outstanding early-career engineers and scientists.

(06/25/2025) Dr. Charan Nallapareddy defended his thesis successfully! Charan is the first PhD graduate of the group. He will be joining Lam research in 2025. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
(01/12/2024) Charan Nallapareddy received the 2024 AIAA Best Paper award at SciTech in Plasma-Assisted Ignition and Combustion. Charan was also a finalist for the Walter Lempert Award for Diagnostics. Congrats Charan!
